THE ARCHANGEL

The Altar is the center of the Church’s Life.  Serving on the Altar Guild is a special vocation and privilege. The Guild’s primary work is to prepare and maintain the Eucharistic vessels and linens as well as the Altar and Sanctuary, setting up for and cleaning up after Mass and all the other liturgies. 

 

The Altar Guild serves God and assists the clergy.  Its members willingly attend to the priests' liturgical needs, consecrating themselves to their work, placing love of Christ above all personal feelings, and working together in perfect agreement and peace.

 

The privilege of serving as God’s housekeepers requires self-dedication as an offering to God, to whom nothing but the best can be given. Members of the Altar Guild put this duty above all others.
